Agile Coaching Lab Reflections - Week 1

After performing the assigned tasks, reading the materials and answering the questions - sit down and document your reflections and learning from this week. How are you progressing towards the vision described in your letter?

I have taken to diarize my day, since I started my new role as an Agile Team Coach. I find that it helps me keep things in perspective. Also things that I may need to follow-up on.

I'll be honest, embarking on the Agile Coaching Lab has added to my already heavy workload. So I am tired. However, having met my cohort and seeing some their awesome work, has only spurred me on.

The personal-canvas exercise, gave me the opportunity to focus on myself for a change (take stock, so to speak) - of what I have, who I am, what I do, how I help, how I give ...

The letter writing exercise (Dear Future Me) made me think about, "What's in it for me? What do I want out of the nine-weeks of the program?"

The creation of a space to share my work. To blog felt quite liberating. But deciding what to write was a nightmare! What do I write? What do I want to share, that will add value?  Wring and re-writing until the Lemonade Stand Observation came along. Then it just flowed out naturally.

I'm enjoyed the reading materials, whilst (I think) too many, were thankfully short (mostly).

Useful ideas and tools such as Radical Candor Framework and SBI (feedback guidance tools that help improve communication between i.e. coach and coachee/ manager and employee/ leader and subordinate), are things I will be keen to use/ apply.

Last but no least, the one-on-one time with Jakub (the Program Lead), has proved to be the most valuable in week one. I came out of the 45 minute session, with informed ideas and gems, that I could use immediately.

How are you progressing towards the vision described in your letter?
